Health Quality Academy

Value-based improvement in healthcare

Breaking the silos in Quality Improvement (QI) in healthcare, by providing comprehensive training and coaching to all involved team members and interested parties.

Why Quality Improvement in Healthcare?

More efficient team work

By implementing improvement projects in multidisciplinary teams, the value of team-based work is enhanced. It allows all members to contribute to the best of their capacities.

Improving equity of healthcare services

By self-reflecting on the data and listening to the population that is served, the teams develop a broader understanding of social determinants of health, and the population’s needs.

Improving the patient’s experience

By designing improvements together with patients, the QI approach ensures that the voice of the patient is heard and that their experience of care is one of the main objectives.

Joy in work

By making improvements with evidence-based practice and clinical processes, the clinicians’ work becomes more meaningful and people feel they are working at their full potential.

About Us

We are a group of clinicians and academics who are passionate about improving our healthcare system by empowering front-line workers to make positive change.

We strongly believe that by supporting evidence-based, patient-centered, and co-designed solutions in the health sector will bring joy in work for workers and better health outcomes for the population.

The creation of the Health Quality Academy was supported financially by the Québec Ministry of Health and Social Services, with a mandate of training local and regional practice facilitators in healthcare.
