INTRODUCTORY COURSE

The Basics of Quality Improvement for Patients and the General Public

The objective of these online modules is to become familiar with QI concepts and understand the importance of implementing QI culture in clinical care settings.

The modules target patients and members of the public who want to participate actively in QI projects and acquire a basic understanding of QI approach in healthcare.

INTERMEDIATE COURSE

The Essentials of Quality Improvement for Healthcare Workers and Leaders

Based on the Model for Improvement methodology, this course targets healthcare workers and managers to develop skills to initiate and lead QI projects in their setting or support the QI teams in place.

The specific competencies are:

  • Identifying the change ideas that are targeting the causes of the problem

  • Understanding Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) approach in testing the improvement

  • Communicating results of improvement efforts

  • Planning for the sustainability of improvements

  • Promoting the importance of QI and the Quintuple Aim in healthcare

  • Understanding the problem that the team is trying to solve and diagnosing the causes of the problem

  • Formulating an improvement objective and identifying the measures necessary to monitor the improvement

  • Optimizing the team engaged in improvement efforts

ADVANCED COURSE

The Quality Improvement Coaching Program

A hybrid training program for QI coaches and practice facilitators in all clinical settings. Through a dynamic blend of theoretical learning and real-world applications, participants will delve into the principles of QI methodologies and gain practical experience through an immersive project to inspire positive change within their team. 

At the end of the training, participants will be able to guide reflective practice processes, develop, test, and implement change strategies, and analyze and interpret health data within a QI framework. Using an andragogical approach, participants are encouraged to develop a QI project to enhance their learning. Individual mentoring from experienced facilitators is provided throughout the training to support participants in the implementation of change.
